I now offer Film Drum Scanning at a fair price. My goal is to provide Film Photographers with the highest-quality scans without breaking the bank. I've always loved the results a Drum Scan could provide but found the costs can be rather high.  From October 2022 - May 2024 I was in charge of operating Heidelberg Tango Drum Scanners for Bay Photo Lab.

I have since then acquired a Tango from them and am looking forward to continuing the service for those in need of high-quality scans.

I’m able to scan a variety of film & formats including Color, B&W, Neg, Chrome, pyro, 35mm, 120, 4x5, 8x10, 11x14, 6x17, and prints.  Each film scan is captured in a 48 bit Silverfast HDR file that is then processed to make a final, high res, 16bit TIFF file.   Every film scan is individually adjusted because no two pieces of film are the same.

Each file is cleaned up at 50-66% in Photoshop in an effort to remove dust & artifacts that may have been introduced during the scanning process.  The goal is to give you a flat/neutral scan with plenty of information to work with.  I use Ektaspace as the color space which we’ve found gives you a wider color gamut to work with when editing the scan compared to other profiles.

Please send individual frames of film and note that slides will have to be unmounted before I'm able to put them on the drum.  A minimum order of $100 is required as materials are pretty costly.

A 15$ fee will be charged for return shipping.  Please note if you would prefer USPS or UPS.  Files up to 2gb will be sent to you via Wetransfer.  If you would prefer a USB drive or your scans exceed the transfer limit, there will be a $15 fee for a drive.
